For a short story, it was ok. The pacing felt weird, and honestly, I just didn’t really like the story. I’m never really a fan of stories where the main guy is a “rogue”, a rough guy all the women fall for despite how badly he treats them. Blech. That and the insta-love thing just kills me!And grammatical errors. Even spelling and wrong words. Ahh!
2, maybe 2 1/2, stars.

I enjoyed this quick read. I recommend it to the young and old Regency readers. It will definitely put a smile on your face.
Authors should try getting basic spelling and grammar right before they go tossing in the five-dollar words. It just makes them look ridiculous.
For example
..."she had sent him three messages last week urging him to come urgently to Buckinghamshire"
"What is all the raucous about?
..."she exclaimed, looking at him besieging."
And that's not even mentioning the so-called "plot".
This story has an amazing storyline that completely draws you into. You cannot help falling in love with the characters and feeling all of their emotions as if they were you. This story sucks you in and I couldn't put it down until the end. I cannot wait for the next book! Short but sweet
This is a short but sweet Regency story about Georgette Danford who is gambled away in a card game by her brother. There are quite a few errors.
I don't know if I've read a longer version of this story before or if this is the same book I read. It is an excellent story and I like other books written by this author but the story line was similar to one I read years ago. I don't know the publish cation date of this novella, maybe I've already read it and it did not come up on my tablet has having been read. Go ahead and read the novella because it was an exciting book and the author is a good writer.
Wow, These novellas are super short. As for a short story it's pretty good. I've read several of Regina Darcy's novellas. I'm not really a fan of short stories but am reading them because they are on kindle unlimited. I would love to see this author write a full length novel. Her story lines and plots are really quite food and fun, but can't be developed fully in a short story. I feel like they always end abruptly. I would give it 5 stars if it kept the same quality but developed into a longer story or at least long enough not to feel like the story is just beginning and suddenly the author ran out of time or space and had to conclude it.
If you like short stories this author does a great job and the stories keep you engaged.
I think I might have enjoyed this if it were a full length novel. It went from a rake sexually harassing what he thought was a loose woman to devoted loving couple in a blink. I felt like someone cut out 2/3 of the book. It could have been a good story; had it been fully explored. This type of plot just doesn't work in a short story.
I appreciate that its clean! But the hero was no hero to me. I never found a reason to like him. Its just too short I guess!
